Chinese labeling requirements for imported food

1. The packaging, labeling, and identification of imported food should comply with Chinese laws, regulations, and national food safety standards; If there should be an instruction manual according to law, there should also be a Chinese instruction manual.

2. Chinese labels for imported health food and special dietary food must be printed on the smallest sales packaging and cannot be affixed.

3. Imported fresh frozen meat products: (1) The inner and outer packaging should have firm, clear, and easily recognizable Chinese English or Chinese and export country (region) text markings, indicating the following content: country of origin (region), product name, production enterprise registration number, and production batch number. (2) The outer packaging should indicate the specifications, place of origin (specific to state/province/city), destination, production date, shelf life, storage temperature, etc. in Chinese. The destination must be marked as the People's Republic of China, and the official inspection and quarantine mark of the exporting country (region) must be added.

4. Imported aquatic products: The inner and outer packaging should have firm, clear, and easily recognizable Chinese English or Chinese and export country (region) text markings, indicating six points: (1) commodity name and scientific name, specifications, production date, batch number. (2) Shelf life and storage conditions. (3) Production methods (seawater fishing, freshwater fishing, aquaculture). (4) Production area (marine fishing area, freshwater fishing country or region, country or region where aquaculture products are located). (5) Name, registration number and address of all involved production and processing enterprises (including fishing vessels, processing vessels, transport vessels and independent refrigerators) (specifically to the state/province/city). (6) The destination must be marked as the People's Republic of China.

5. Imported aquatic products that do not directly enter the domestic consumer market (including being used as processing materials and re exported) can be labeled as independent packaging units in pallets, containers, and transport cabins with the information specified in this article. For those that do not enter the circulation process, only internal labels are exempted, and internal packaging is not necessary.
